Sun 020225 Duolingo: Latest News...2025: I'm a yearly subscriber
DUOLINGO, REGULAR YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION
For the last 2/3 years I've been a regular subscriber to Duolingo platform...; the yearly fee is around £59.99.
I mostly use it to study learning French both 'on and off'.
Normally, I will try to gain 1st position on the leaderboard...; but, in reality, leaderboard position doesn't really mattter...that's just purely a 'temporary/weekly' achievement; what truly matters is that you keep on continuing to move forwards learning French.

DUOLINGO MAX ('AI BASED' LANGUAGE LEARNING PLATFORM)
Recently, I came across an internet article...which explained that there is a different 'AI based' version of Duolingo...which is called, Duolingo Max...; the yearly subscription cost is double what I'm currently paying: £119.00 per year.

I would certainly like to try it...
Learning using the 'normal' Duolingo platform...works...; but, can also be rather 'slow'...which is mainly due to my own fault...for just not signing in/and, practicing enough.
Who knows, maybe, the 'AI based' platform might help to make the language learning experience even more deeply 'engaging'...; for example, I heard you can have 'real time' conversations with the bot.

DUOLINGO FRENCH ABILITY LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
My current French ability level according to Duolingo platform is 'intermediate'.
However, in reality, I still feel that can't truly speak French fluently, yet...
- So, if I were to hear French speakers talking in the street/or, on the bus...I cannot figure out what they are saying...?
- If I tried watching a French movie...they talk far too fast for me to understand...?
- If I try reading a French book...there are 'many' words that I do NOT understand...?
- If I try listening to French music being played on the radio...most of the words I do NOT get...?!
Also, in terms of French culture/history/politics...; I don't understand too very much about that at all...; plus, of course, I've never visited that country...; in reality, I don't think it's likely that I ever shall.

MY PREVIOUS HISTORY OF HAVING LEARNED SOME 'INTRODUCTORY' FRENCH WAY BACK IN SECONDARY SCHOOL...FOR 1 YEAR LONG
Nevertheless, French was the very first 'foreign language' taught to me in Secondary School for 1 year long...; so, that is the language that I was most interested in learning, first...; chiefly because I already knew some words/vocabulary before; and, years later on...I've still chosen to stick with learning it.
Honestly, I don't think I'll ever be able to understand/speak any 'foreign language' just like a native speaker does. But, I do feel that going to the effort of, at least, trying to understand a few words...is well worth the effort...; as opposed to knowing absolutely nothing.

WMCOLLEGE, LEARN FRENCH INSIDE OF A GROUP BASED CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT (STILL THINKING ABOUT IT...)
I been thinking about signing up to go learn French inside of my current college:
...but, I'm very deeply worried that if I do join up...I'm going to be made to feel very uncomfortable, indeed; which would, then, make me wish to 'drop out'...; thus, leading to what is a total complete 'waste of money'.
For example, I do recall signing up to take a Japanese language course somewhere...inside of a college...; and, after paying something like £100.00 for the term. I ended up 'dropping out' after the very first lesson...; due to not getting along with certain people there. I don't want that very bitter -deeply haunting/really traumatic- experience to ever happen to me, again.
So, for now, at least...all I been doing is merely 'thinking' about it. I'm also worried about the cost...which is, approximately, £75.00(which is half price for people who are 'unemployed').
